On May 14, the participants of the training seminar within the Network Intensive University STI "20.35" approached the practical stage of the implementation of their projects and became acquainted with business modeling. The event was held at the Omsk State Agrarian University (Omsky Biocluster member).
The director of the Business Factory, Maxim Kucherenko, explained in the dialogue format how a startup differs from a ready-made business. Of course, there are obvious differences, such as turnover, amount of capital, age of the company and others. But the main difference is that startups do not yet have an established business model. Next, the students had to study the topic "Why the business model and business plan are not the same."
To build a successful business, first of all, you need a working business model. In essence, this is a model of the interaction of the product being developed with prospective clients or the search for problems that the client can solve with the product. The work was based on the principle of trial and error. The development of business models by teams was carried out according to the proposed template, which included the consistent filling of the problems of the buyer, the target audience, the value of the product, the solution of the problems identified, etc.
After building the business model, the students themselves became potential consumers for a time, and with the help of an improvised focus group, the models were tested for performance. The working day ended with the creation of basic business models of high-tech projects.
