Oleg Podkorytov, Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Omsk Branch), reported about the epizootic situation that currently exists in the country and the world. He noted in detail on the necessary measures to prevent African swine fever in the region.
He noted that since the beginning of this year, 170 farmers have been checked to monitor compliance with veterinary rules, 58 violations have been identified. Places of unauthorized trade in products of animal origin are identified. The main violations of the veterinary legislation of the Russian Federation: violations in the keeping of animals (fencing, sanitary inspector, protective clothing); there are no accompanying documents for the products being produced; the requirements of technical regulations (flow rate, labeling, packaging, positive samples) are not complied with.
The head of the Main Veterinary Administration of the Omsk region, Vladimir Plashchenko, reported that in order to prevent ASF, it is necessary to strictly monitor the provision of own biosecurity of industrial sites, as well as constantly carry out explanatory preventive work and training personnel to strictly observe the rules for ensuring biosecurity. Special attention should be paid to strengthening control over the content of pigs in personal farmsteads.
