Drought threatens winter wheat

The drought, which has been established in the key regions of Russia for growing winter wheat, can destroy 10-15% of the crops of the above crop.

A significant part of winter wheat will be destroyed if cold weather with night frosts arrives in the regions in mid-November. Potentially, wheat can be lost on 10-15% of the area. Mainly, the loss of culture is predicted in the central regions. It should be noted that for five years the average level of death of winter crops (the proportion of wheat crops lost after winter) was 4.8% with a range of 2.7–8.7%. Last year's dry autumn and a very mild winter resulted in a figure of 8.7%. If there is still no rain in the south of Russia in October, this figure may grow even more.
