Israel will invest in the construction of 15 dairy complexes in Russia

The Russian government has determined the preliminary parameters of the project for the creation of joint Russian-Israeli dairy complexes, announced in November 2016, reports DairyNews.ru.

The Government of the Russian Federation on a competitive basis will choose the region where it is supposed to build 15 dairy farms for 1.2 thousand heads each for five years. At present, the Government is preparing a decree regulating the conditions for preferential lending to the Russian-Israeli dairy cluster. Applications for the implementation of the project came from Republic of Tatarstan, Voronezh, Smolensk and Tambov regions.

The selection criteria are the availability of land and own processing, as well as the willingness to co-finance from the region and build infrastructure at the expense of the regional budget. It is assumed that after the construction of the complexes, their owners will be compensated for 20-30% of the capital costs.

The participants of the project can be the Israeli agro-integrator LR Group together with the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
