'Genetics & Breeding of Cattle' Practice News

January 15, experts of the 'Genetics & Breeding of Cattle' Practice of Omsky Biocluster worked in the agricultural enterprise Lider LLC (Bolsherechensky district, Omsk region).

The progress achieved by Lider LLC has been demonstrated more than once at meetings and publications to illustrate the real achievements of the implementation of a scientifically based breeding program using the best genetics. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account significant changes in herd management, which allowed to realize the genetic potential of the cattle and to achieve results exceeding the indices of many breeding farms in the region.

Head of 'Genetics & Breeding of Cattle' Practice of Omsky Biocluster, Director General of SIBAGROCOMPLEX Group Anatoly Shulakov:

- It was important for us to make sure once again the correctness of the chosen direction and to see the evident result of joint work with the head and specialists of the enterprise. Breeding work does not have an instant effect, but the potential built-in will work for years. We have modeled an animal, a machine for the production of products through the implementation of a selection program using interbreeding and targeted selection of producers, but only by specialists it depends on how effectively this machine will work. Therefore, it is important to achieve mutual understanding for long-term work, which we managed with the head of this enterprise, Mikhail Rogozhnikov and the main zootechnician Galina Esina. Our specialists exchanged opinions and adjusted further plans for work with the herd in the direction of breeding, reproduction and veterinary medicine, which will allow achieving even more meaningful results. Undoubtedly, such meetings give a lot of information for analysis and implementation in production. This is one of the effective models of cooperation, which will continue to be widely used.

The working visit was held within the Interregional Center for Agro Industry Engineering and the Effective Livestock Program, implemented by Omsky Biocluster in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Omsk region. The head of the agro-industrial company Ermak (Novovarshavsky district) Vladimir Gerk and the chief livestock specialist of the company, Andrey Lyubomirov, took part in the exchange of experience. They have become acquainted with the features of the technological process and enterprise management with great interest, which allow achieving excellent results.
