In the first three months of the season, Russian sunflower oil exports dropped to 302K tons, a year earlier, this figure was 522.6 tons. The current figure is the lowest in the last three years.
Unfavorable pricing on the market is the main reason for the decline. This season Iran has become the main importer of Russian sunflower oil, which accounts for 20% of all exports. It is also worth noting that Iran has increased purchases of Russian oil by 7.6% compared with last year. Uzbekistan has increased imports of sunflower oil from Russia by 18.4%, and it accounts for 12% of exports. Egypt, Turkey and China reduced purchases this season.
