The Government of the Penza Region, Tekhnokord company and the Chinese COFCO Corporation signed a tripartite protocol of intent on mutual cooperation at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi. This is a project for the construction of a plant for the wheat deep processing in Serdobsk, Penza region.
Tekhnokord, which is a resident of Territory of Advanced Development (type of special economic zone) in Serdobsk, plans to build a plant for wheat deep processing, which will produce glucose-fructose syrup, gluten, citric acid, high-protein feed for animals. The cost of the project is more than 20 billion RUR, about 700 jobs are planned to be created at the plant. In December 2018, the governor of the Penza region, Ivan Belozertsev, during a trip to China discussed the possibility of participation in the project of Chinese investors from the COFCO Group - the company is one of the largest food producers in China.
