Kazakhstan has confirmed its commitment to improving the safety of dairy products, including from raw milk, by signing in Nur Sultan, the country's capital, a roadmap that will bring the national dairy industry to the standards of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
This roadmap is designed to provide conditions, including transparent and comprehensive monitoring of animal health and quality control of raw milk as part of a national monitoring system. This check will determine the current level of compliance with standards and assess the willingness of national laboratories to conduct the necessary studies. The roadmap will also foster inclusiveness through the sharing of knowledge and best practices.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development invested 8.2 billion euros in 262 projects in Kazakhstan. Of this total, 798 million euros were invested in 56 agribusiness projects. The Bank has a wide presence in Kazakhstan, having two representative offices in Nur-Sultan and Almaty, as well as five local branches for work in remote areas of the country.
