A reduction in the number of all agricultural animals was noted in the Omsk region. According to Omskstat, for 9 months of 2019, the number of cattle decreased in the region by 10,000 heads, and cows immediately fell by 3,000 heads. The number of pigs in the region decreased (by 13,000 animals), sheep and goats - by 16,000 animals, and the number of poultry of all species decreased by 12%. On average, the population of all these agricultural animals in the region decreased by 3-4%.
A serious reduction in the number of cattle was noted from the beginning of the year in agricultural organizations: the herd of cows was reduced to 71,000 (from 75,000), sheep and goats to 3,300 (from 4,400). A sharp decrease in the number of pigs was also noted, and the number of poultry was declining. Omsk Statistics Service notes that the livestock population has grown only among farmers, and that is insignificant. Rural residents and collective farms are actively getting rid of animals.
