Agrarians of the North Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan collected over 5.5 million tons of grain, which is practically not sold because of a low purchase price, the portal Mtrk.kz reports.
Small lots sell wheat of grade 3 for 32-33 thousand tenge ($ 96-99) per ton, which does not cover production costs. Actual problems are the deficit of wagons for grain transportation, as well as the refusal of local elevators from Kazakh grain because of low prices and high quality of Russian grain.
