Exports of grain and processed products fell by 10%

According to the territorial administrations of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), the export of grain and products of its processing (hereinafter - products) from the Russian Federation in 2019/20 MY (hereinafter - years), taking into account shipments to the territory of the countries of the Customs Union, amounted to 26.9 million tons, which is 2.9 million tons or 10% less than volumes on the same date in 2018/19 (29.8 million tons, for comparison - for the same period of 2017/18 - 27.7 million tons).

 

23.8 million tons were exported (including grain and leguminous crops), which is 3.7 million tons or 14% less than the volumes on the same date in 2018/19 (27.5 million tons). For the same period of 2017/18, the volume amounted to 25.5 million tons. In 2019/20, the number of importing countries amounted to 130 countries.

 

Deliveries of TOP 10 products accounted for 25.6 million tons and a 95% share in total exports (28.7 million tons in 2018/19). Traditionally, wheat was in greatest demand, whose export decreased by 14% compared to 2018/19 and amounted to 19.7 million tons, the share fell to 73%. Deliveries of corn increased to 1.3 million tons (share 5%, + 28%), sunflower meal to 0.594 million tons (2%, + 59%), soybeans to 0.506 million tons (2%, + 61%), sunflower seeds up to 0.321 million tons (1%, 6 times more), flax seeds up to 0.292 million tons (1%, + 68%) and chickpeas up to 0.233 million tons (0.9%, 3 times more). Barley exports decreased to 2.1 million tons (8%, - 26%) and peas to 0.3 million tons (1%, - 24%). Deliveries of wheat bran remained at the level of the previous year (0.283 million tons, 1%, - 2%).
