China vs United States: the trade war began

World markets have witnessed the beginning of a trade war between the global world economic superpowers - the US and China.

The US is to impose 25% tariffs on $50bn worth of Chinese goods. This was officially announced on June 15 by US President Donald Trump. It is planned that new tariffs will begin to operate after the official publication of the full list of goods. In addition, the US plans on June 30 to announce measures to limit investment and additional control over the export of technology to the Chinese business.

China retaliated, saying it will impose an additional 25% tariff on 659 US goods worth $50bn. At the same time, these tariffs on 545 names of American goods, including agricultural products, for the amount of about $ 34bn come into effect on July 6. Tariffs on other US goods will be announced at a later date, the Xinhua news agency reported.

And this is far from the end. Donald Trump promised to introduce additional import tariffs if China responds to US restrictive measures.
