Production of turkey in Russia sets up records

According to the results of 2017 in Russia will be produced about 270 thousand tons of turkey meat (in 2016 - 220 thousand tons). Thus, the production growth will be about 23%, the president of the Meat Council of the Single Economic Space Mushegh Mamikonyan estimated.

According to Mamikonyan, the sharp increase in the production of turkey meat is due to the fact that Russians are paying more and more attention to healthy food. The turkey contains more iron and calcium than in the chicken, while it has less fat. Thanks to such properties, a turkey can safely be included in the nutrition of children, patients and people of advanced age.
