Ministry of Agriculture expects a doubling of confectionery exports

The Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting with representatives of leading enterprises for the production of confectionery products and industry unions. The meeting discussed the development of export of confectionery products in the future until 2024.

In 2018, exports of confectionery products in value terms amounted to more than $ 1.1 billion. A year earlier, this figure was $ 1 billion. By 2024, shipments should reach $ 2.4 billion. This will be achieved as a result of increased exports by the largest representatives of the industry.

The main importers of Russian confectionery products are the countries of the EAEU (more than 50% of all deliveries) and the CIS. Also, a significant part of the products is shipped to China. Domestic confectionery production supplies products to Europe, mainly Germany. According to the forecast, in 2019 export volume should increase by 20% and amount to more than $ 1.3 billion.
