Vets found listeria in meat

On April 1 - 15, the Omsk Expert Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsky Biocluster member) received 139 samples with which 473 tests were carried out. As a result, experts identified four cases of non-compliance with the requirements of regulatory documents.

Listeria pathogens were found in four samples of poultry meat. Under natural conditions, many species of wild animals, including rodents and birds, are sick with listeriosis. There is a disease in almost all types of agricultural and domestic animals, ornamental and poultry. The causative agent of listeriosis is fairly stable in the external environment. Under favorable conditions (low temperatures, sufficient moisture), it has the ability not only to persist for a long time, but also to multiply at 4-6 ° C in soil, water, food products (meat, milk, vegetables, sauerkraut), including during storage of products in a refrigerator.
