Omsk farmers discussed technology of storage, preparation and application of organic fertilizers in the region within the AgroOmsk-2018 Agrotechnical Exhibition-Fair, dedicated to the Year of Fertility. Much attention was paid to the fertility of soils, the effectiveness of the use of liquid mineral and organic fertilizers, as well as the requirements for the storage and use of fertilizers.
The seminar was attended by members of Omsky Biocluster - Omsk State Agrarian University and Agrochemical Service Center Omsky FSBI, as well as the main agronomists, heads of agricultural administrations, heads of peasant farms.
The head of the department for monitoring and agrochemical soil survey of Agrochemical Service Center Omsky Alexander Shmidt informed about the effect of organic fertilizer on soil fertility. He noted that good soil is characterized by good water and air exchange. The high content of humus makes the soil darker. "Humus is the main indicator that affects all soil parameters. We must increase the humus content to maintain soil structure. We observe significant losses of humus over 12-13 years of active use of soil," said Alexander Shmidt.
The representative of OmSAU Igor Bobrenko informed about the influence of organic fertilizers on the productivity of grain crops in the conditions of the forest-steppe of Omsk region. According to him, fertilizers can help, but at the same time negatively affect the ecological situation. He also talked about systems for processing manure into fertilizers. Organic fertilizers have a validity period of up to 5-6 years. Rational use of mineral fertilizers can not be organized without the correct methods of manure using," said Igor Bobrenko.
