Omsk laboratory found Ambrosia in soybeans

The laboratory of quarantine phytosanitary examinations and surveys of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (member of Omsky Biocluster) identified seeds of a quarantine weed harmful to Russia - Ambrosia.

Specialists of the Omsk Reference Center, as a result of herological examinations, found harmful seeds in batches of soybeans of Russian origin.

Ambrosia (one-year-old weed) is extremely harmful. The height of plants reaches from 1 to 2.5 meters, and the root penetrates to a depth of 4 meters. Ambrosia in meadows and pastures displaces cereal and leguminous herbs and sharply reduces fodder qualities of hay and pastures. Ambrosia wormwood is dangerous for people's health. Her pollen causes ragged pollinosis.

Information about the results of the expert examinations of this sample by the specialists of the Center was sent to the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor of Omsk region.
