Donbiotech launch postponed to 2023

The launch date for the Donskye Biotechnology plant in Volgodonsk, Rostov region, was postponed until the first half of 2023. It is planned that the enterprise will be fully operational in 2024. Donbiotech is implementing a project to create a complex for deep processing of grain and the production of amino acids. The readiness of the object today is 83%.

 

A profile investor, the German company Evonik Industries AG, joined the project, at whose insistence the project was amended to introduce new technologies and standards in grain processing. The launch dates for the facilities were shifted several times. It was originally planned to be commissioned in 2016, but later, due to an increase in the cost of imported equipment, costs increased by RUR 15 billion ($ 196.55 million), and the launch was postponed to the end of 2017, and then to 2018. The total investment in the project is € 160 million, the required financing is provided by the main owner of Donbiotech - Russian Agricultural Bank. According to the plan, the plant's revenue after launch will amount to more than RUR 5 billion per year ($ 65.52 million).
