The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation proposes in 2020 to subsidize the grain transport from eight eastern regions. The draft of the relevant act is posted on the website regulation.gov.ru.
The draft act provides for subsidizing the export of 2.1 million tons of grain from Altai and Krasnoyarsk territories, Kemerovo, Kurgan, Novosibirsk, Omsk (463,037 tons), Orenburg and Tyumen regions. Subsidies will be provided by Russian Railways to compensate for losses in income arising from the grain transport from these regions to certain regions of the Central, North-West, Siberian, North Caucasus, Far Eastern and Southern Federal Districts. It is assumed that the benefit will be valid from February 1 to August 31, 2020.
Recall that this year Russia harvested a crop of 120.6 million tons of grain, which was the second result after a record 2017, when the crop amounted to 135.5 million tons.
