According to Credit Agricole, all leading swine producing states in the EU have a growing number of livestock.
Bank analysts at Credit Agricole refer to Eurostat data, according to which Poland is the most dynamic, where the number of pigs reached 11.9 million (+ 7%) in 2017, Denmark (+ 4.5%), Spain ( + 3.1%) and France (+ 2.4%). The minimum increase in the population of pigs (+ 0.6%) was registered in Germany.
According to analysts, the growth in the production of pigs from the largest producers of the EU, coupled with a decrease in demand for pork in the Chinese market, is confirmed by the fact that at the end of last year the pig market entered the descending phase. At the same time, they allow a seasonal increase in prices for pigs, although it will in any case be lower than in the season-2017.
