Poultry meat: restrictions are lifted, but still can not be imported

Starting from February 19, the Rosselkhoznadzor cancels temporary restrictions on the import of poultry meat from Austria, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary, Greece, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, France, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Sweden.

The Rosselkhoznadzor reported that this decision is technical. "In fact, from the countries to which Russia’s response applies, products that are on the pro-bargo list cannot be supplied," the department said. However, within the food embargo introduced in August 2014, the EU countries cannot supply meat and edible poultry by-products to Russia, with the exception of goods for the production of baby food within the permitted volume approved by the Ministry of Agriculture. In July last year, the Russian government extended the food supply embargo until the end of 2019.
