The Chinese government announced the removal of quarantine in 90% of the districts where it was introduced earlier due to the African swine fever spread, the Vice Minister of Agriculture of China Yu Kangzhen said on March 19.
Yu Kangzhen noted that the fight against the ASF virus in the country is successful, the epizootic has declined. He also said that "quarantine was removed from 105 districts, this is 90% of all cordoned off areas of infection." In total, 28 outbreaks of the disease were recorded in 28 provinces of China within seven months. Today, the ASF virus has been eradicated in two provinces of the country.
