In the first five months of 2019, meat production in Russia increased by 10.5%, to 1.1 million tons, compared to the same period in 2018, according to Rosstat.
Production of meat and meat-containing semi-finished products in January-May increased by 11% to 1.4 million tons, sausage products by 0.2% to 899,000 tons. Production of poultry meat and by-products decreased by 5.2% during this period 1.9 million tons of processed and canned fish by 1.8% - up to 1.7 million tons.
