Grain transportation subsidies: now until the end of 2019

It is planned to extend subsidization of railway tariffs for grain exports from regions remote from ports at least until the end of the year. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov at a meeting on national projects in Kurgan, Interfax reports. Now this state support mechanism is valid until August 31.

"We are very interested in export. The export of agriculture overtakes [export] of arms. Therefore, we will take the necessary measures to stimulate it. Let’s write to ourselves as an instruction to the ministry to prepare a proposal to prolong resolution No. 406 at least until the end of the year," Siluanov said.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry, the subsidy will be provided for the export of 69,000 tons of grain, including 19,700 tons from the Altai Territory, 16,400 tons from the Omsk region, 8,900 tons from the Novosibirsk region, 7,900 tons from the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 5,400 and 5,500 tons - from the Kemerovo and Kurgan regions, 3,900 tons - from the Tyumen region and 1,000 tons - from the Orenburg region. All these volumes are planned to be transported to the regions of the Center and the North-West.

Meanwhile, grain harvesting is starting in Kazakhstan. Due to the hot weather, crops have ripened a little earlier than the normative period, and farmers expect to complete the bulk of the field work by mid-September.

According to Georgy Prokop, director of Shakhterskoye LLC (Karaganda region), the current season is similar to 2012. "It rained in June, but the July drought did its job, the grain is not filled with moisture. Now it is very difficult to say what average yield we get in the end. But, I think it will be 9 - 10 centners per hectare. At the same time, the heat made it possible to obtain grain with a very high gluten content, 30 - 32%. That is, we will get a large amount of high-quality grain of the second and even first class."
