Russian Ministry of Agriculture will adjust the grain price

Russian Ministry of Agriculture will regulate grain prices on the domestic market, while their growth in the medium term is not expected, Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev said.

"In the following years, we will focus on improving the quality of grain and, most importantly, we will regulate prices in the domestic market. Considering that the grain price in the foreign market today is quite favorable for exporters, about $ 240, this naturally leads to internal adjustments to our prices in the domestic market. I do not think that prices in the domestic market will grow in the medium term," Minister said.

He also added that the Ministry for price adjustment plans to introduce reduced rates for the grain transportation from Siberia. "We plan to organize preferential tariffs for the garain transportation, which is concentrated in the Siberian Federal District, where the domestic price is 3,000-4,000 RUR ($ 45-60) lower than in the European part of Russia, which should in some way adjust our prices in the domestic market," Patrushev said.

Earlier it was reported that Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Gordeyev will charge the heads of relevant ministries and departments, as well as regional authorities to timely form grain stocks to maintain prices for socially important products and stabilize the situation with bread prices.
