Russia increases pork production

The volume of pork production in Russia in 2018 reached 4.86 million tons in live weight. This is 6.2% more than in 2017.

 

First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov at a meeting with the leadership of the National Pig Producers Union of Russia and pork production companies discussed the results of 2018 and plans for the development of domestic pig production for the current year. The Ministry of Agriculture as the task of pig producers for the current year considers maintaining the growth rate for the coming year. Dzhambulat Khatuov also noted that the priority direction of the Russian pig breeding is an increase in exports.
