The tax on unused agricultural land is proposed to significantly increase

The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia proposes to significantly increase the tax on agricultural land that is not used for its intended purpose. The corresponding bill is posted on the Federal Portal for Draft Normative Legal Acts.

Obviously, the current amount of land tax is not burdensome for agricultural organizations, which leads to a situation where agricultural producers for a long time pay land tax without using the land plot for the purpose of agricultural production, the authors of the document believe.

In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia proposes to introduce an application of an increasing coefficient, the maximum amount of which will be 33 to the land tax, if agricultural land is not used for its intended purpose or used in violation of the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation. "This measure will increase the amount of tax payment for unscrupulous agricultural organizations to 10% of the cadastral value," the ministry believes.
