The Russian government resumes support for industrial clusters

A meeting was held by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov, dedicated to the implementation of regional industrial policy. The agenda included the proposals of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia on the implementation of measures of state support for industrial clusters and technoparks.

The measures include, inter alia, the resumption of subsidies for the implementation of joint projects of industrial clusters, the creation of measures to compensate for the costs of creating the infrastructure of industrial technology parks of private management companies, and the resumption of reimbursement of costs for paying interest on loans from management companies of industrial technology parks.

The proposals were prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in conjunction with the Association of Clusters and Technoparks of Russia, taking into account the numerous appeals of regional authorities in support of this mechanism. In accordance with the minutes of the meeting, amendments to federal legislation are to be made in October this year.

"Members of the Association of Clusters and Technoparks of Russia have been actively involved in the development of proposals for improving the mechanisms of regional industrial policy for many years. Thanks to the openness of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the support of these initiatives by the head of the Ministry, Denis Manturov, regions receive more opportunities for economic development, which is now especially important. The approval of the new mechanisms of regional industrial policy by the supervising deputy prime minister will lay the foundation for the formation of stable conditions for supporting the regional industry for the long term," said the director of the Association Andrei Shpilenko.

In the future, the experts of the Association will take part in the revision and preparation of amendments to the specified regulatory legal acts. In the near future, the Association will hold a series of events, the task of which will be to discuss the proposed changes with representatives of industrial clusters and technoparks, as well as with the expert community. In particular, these issues will be discussed within the framework of the Interregional Forum "Development of Industrial Clusters and Technoparks. Reboot", which will take place in Ryazan on September 18.
