The Minister of Agriculture and Food of Omsk region, Maxim Chekusov, during the press conference, speaking about the annual shortage of wagons for elevators, noted that in this regard, Omsk region works better than many other regions. This season, 170% of grain was shipped compared to the past, and almost 1M tons were exported by rail. In September, 26 railway freight car were loaded, in October - 45, now - 75 ones per day.
"That is, one train leaves per day guaranteed. We took out 1704 cars in 15 days of November. Last November, when everyone shouted and screamed, there was a lot of grain and a problem with export, we actually shipped 1620 cars. It’s good, but they don’t immerse and take everything at the same time. Therefore, the question is for our farmers to conclude long contracts - with poultry farms, pig farms, elevators, exporters to form lots. And then we can manage this process," said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture .
