The production of oilseeds in Kazakhstan in 2017 was 2.420 million tons, which is 1.5 times more than in 2014 (1.547 million tons), Evgeny Karabanov, the founder of the Severnoye Zerno Group, said in an interview with APK-Inform.
According to him, in the reporting year, gross rape harvest in Kazakhstan amounted to 290.12 tons, which is 39% more than in 2016, oilseed flax - 733.5 thousand tons (+ 21%), safflower - 219.2 ( + 30%), soybeans - more than 260 thousand tons (+ 13%), and sunflower - more than 881 thousand tons (+ 17%). E. Karabanov also noted that the yield of oilseeds in 2017 is of good quality: the fat content is more by 3-5% compared to last year's indicator.
