The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia has not yet completely abandoned the idea of creating a new union of Russian grain exporters, but at the same time, the Ministry is considering the option of creating this association by radically reformatting the existing union of agricultural exporters. This statement was made by the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev for journalists on March 21 in Moscow.
"We are now interacting with the main market participants. We planned to create a new union, but, nevertheless, consultations are underway, or a new union will be created, or the old one will be reformatted. This will be a cardinal change of format, up to replacing the founders and replacing the leadership," the minister said. At the same time, he clarified that the ministry is ready to take into account all the interests of market participants regarding the principles of the new union work, "but at the same time we need the union to interact with the Ministry of Agriculture and without fail to take into account all the needs that exist on the domestic grain market."
For the first time, Dmitry Patrushev voiced the idea of creating a new association of grain exporters in Russia on February 11. At the same time, the minister predicted that the creation of a new union should be completed before the end of April of this year. At the same time, on March 20, the deputy head of the Ministry of Agriculture, Oksana Lut, told reporters that the ministry had abandoned the idea of creating a separate union of grain exporters and plans to create this organization based on the already existing National Association of Exporters of Agricultural Products.
