Dodder found in a batch of peppers

Joint efforts of the officials of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance - Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsk Branch) and experts of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsky Biocluster member) led to the identification and confirmation of thin-stemmed dodder in three batches of pepper (20 tons, 17 tons and 20 tons).

Experts found the same forbidden plant when examining the centers of distribution of quarantine objects. In total, five areas with dodder were identified in the Omsk region.

Dodders do not have leaves and roots, but subsist on the plants they attack. Dodders belong to the objects of internal quarantine, and the fight against them is of great importance.
