Kazakhstan will double taxes on unused land

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed doubling taxes on unused land. "It is necessary to increase the basic tax rates for unused land from 10 to 20 times. It is also necessary to ensure a reduction in the period of non-use of agricultural land for forced withdrawal from the current two years to one year," Tokayev said at a meeting of the National Council of Public Confidence.

He noted that for the purpose of state control over the use of agricultural land, he signed a law on remote sensing of lands. Earlier, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a joint meeting of the parliament chambers instructed to proceed with the seizure of unused agricultural land from the 'latifundists'.
