Omsky Biocluster took part in the All-Russian Meeting on Animal Husbandry

Experts of the 'Genetics & Breeding of Cattle Practice' of Omsky Biocluster took part in the XVI All-Russian Conference on Livestock Development, which took place on March 21-22 at the All-Russian Research Institute of Breeding under the auspices of the Department of Livestock and Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. Within the event, there were meetings devoted to the most pressing issues of livestock breeding and its separate branches: dairy and beef cattle breeding, pig breeding, sheep breeding and goat breeding.

 

The reports on the strategy for the development of the livestock breeding base in Russia, state support measures and implementation of the activities stipulated by the Road Map for the Development of Pedigree Dairy Cattle Breeding attracted the greatest interest.

 

Representatives of regional information and breeding centers and executive authorities have actively participated in discussions on the legal aspects of issuing breeding certificates for pedigree products (material), using the given opportunity to receive directly from the representatives of the federal ministry on the most contentious issues associated with the development of regional normative acts regulating the mutual relations of the parties in the provision of public services, and the specific situation in the process.

 

Also, specialists had an opportunity in a narrow professional circle to discuss topical issues related to the preservation of the gene pool of domestic breeds of cattle, the organization of the breeding process, including the creation of uniform databases and registration of breeding animals, genetic examination and genomic selection and many other issues.
