Preliminary results of participation of Omsk region in the international exhibition SIAL China (Shanghai) were discussed on May 22 at a forum that took place in the Congress Hall of Omsk region.

SIAL China has become Asia's largest exhibition of food products and modern equipment for the food industry. This year, it gathered over 3,000 exhibitors and 80,000 professional visitors from all over the world. Omsk region was represented by 10 companies specializing in the production of confectionery and pasta, ice cream, milk, grain and flour products, including members of Omsky Biocluster.

"Our processing enterprises in Omsk region should look for additional markets to work at full capacity," said Maxim Chekusov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Omsk region. "Therefore, our participation in the exhibition, which was attended by more than 100 countries, is very important. There are certain prospects for the development of retail with the products of Omsk companies and the Omsk Trade House is expanding its branches in China today. There are certain applications already today for oilseeds and crops. China has needs for Omsk buckwheat. Also, Chinese partners are ready to buy flour, mixed fodder, vegetable oils."

As a result of 2017, China became one of the most active foreign trade partners of Omsk region. Foreign trade turnover amounted to $ 76.1 million.
