Apples with insects were found in Omsk

Inspectors of the Omsk Reference Center (Omsky Biocluster member) during the inspection of quarantine products (apples) found a pest (Black pine-leaf scale).

This insect damages about 150 species of various plants, most often apple, pear, plum, sweet cherry and apricot. Trunks, leaves, fruits, branches are subjected to damage. As a result of the insect's vital activity, cracking and dying off of the bark, summer leaf fall, curvature of shoots, reduction of growth, drying of some branches and even the complete death of the plant can occur. Saplings and young trees are particularly affected. Yields are significantly reduced, the formation of red spots is observed on the fruits.

The information was sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsk Branch).
