August 21, a party of peaches was delivered to the territory of Omsk region from the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. Specialists of the Omsk Reference Center of Rosselkhoznadzor (member of Omsky Biocluster) have detected a dangerous quarantine pest in a batch of peaches.
Analyzes of peaches revealed a quarantine pest - the oriental fruit moth. This insect is included in the Single List of Quarantine Objects of the Eurasian Economic Union. The oriental fruit moth damages fruits and shoots of peach, plum, apricot, nectarine, apple, pear, quince, cherry, cherry laurel, almond. Fruit damage sometimes reaches 90% - 100%. The main danger is not only that this insect is able to make devastating raids on the gardens, but also because it is extremely prolific and can spread very quickly.
Information on the results of the expert examinations of this sample by specialists of the Omsk Reference Center was sent to the Omsk Branch of Rosselkhoznadzor.
