Omsk regional Branch of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) scolded the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture for publicly announcing the rise in price for bread. FAS believes that statements about the rise in prices for bread can lead to violations of antitrust laws, SuperOmsk reports.
"The Minister of Agriculture and Food of Omsk region, Maxim Chekusov, at a press conference following the harvesting campaign, reported an increase in the cost of bread by 10-20%. According to the Omsk regional Branch of FAS, these public statements may be perceived by companies of the bread products market as a guideline when planning their economic activities, and prevent the restriction and elimination of competition in this product market," the press service of the Omsk regional Branch of FAS reported.
In this regard, the anti-monopoly authorities issued a warning to the head of the Omsk Ministry of Agriculture, Maxim Chekusov, about the inadmissibility of public statements about raising the price of bread, which could lead to a violation of antitrust laws.
