The export of dairy products from the Russian Federation in 2017, according to preliminary results, declined by 7.9% compared to 2016 due to a decrease in the competitiveness of some types of domestic dairy products in the world market, as well as production cuts (fermented milk products, drinking milk). Such data are given in the report of the MilkNews Analytical Center.
The total tonnage of exports was about 684 thousand tons (in terms of milk), the cost - $ 305 million (+ 14.2%). Valuation has increased due to the continued high price levels in the world market compared to 2016. The main external consumers of dairy products from Russia are the CIS countries (91% of exports), incl. Kazakhstan and Ukraine (among countries outside the CIS - Mongolia, Georgia, Abkhazia and China).
