V.Putin is ready to abolish agro-sanctions with the EU as a response

Russia abolishes retaliatory sanctions if the EU lifts its restrictions in the field of agriculture. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with Thierry Mariani, head of the delegation of French politicians, president of the Franco-Russian Dialogue Association.

"My answer will not please the farmers, our Russian ones, but I have to tell you that if European sanctions are lifted, then, of course, for our part, we will be forced to remove retaliatory measures, because there will be no initial reasons for which they were introduced," the head of the Russian state said. According to Putin, the introduction of sanctions did not benefit anyone, although he acknowledged that restrictions have become an incentive that has helped domestic farmers expand sales of their products.

The Russian president recalled that the Russian Federation ranked first in the world in the export of wheat, overtaking the United States and Canada. The same situation applies to poultry meat and pork. "Now our task is to expand our presence in the Chinese market, that is, we have completely closed our needs," Putin added. Speaking about the possible abolition of counter-sanctions, the President of the Russian Federation noted that it would be difficult for foreign farmers to win back their former positions.
