For 7 months of 2019, Russian manufacturers of agricultural machinery increased their exports to the EU countries, where agricultural machinery is very well developed, in quantitative terms by 28% compared to the same period last year.
Deliveries of agricultural machinery from Russia to Europe (excluding components and spare parts) in 2018 compared to 2017 in quantitative terms almost doubled. From January to July this year, European farmers purchased more than 300 units Russian agricultural machines, if we talk about the main positions of agricultural machinery excluding nodes and spare parts. Export in quantitative terms to Bulgaria grew 2.7 times, to Germany - 2.5 times, to Lithuania - 1.8 times. Given the supply of components and spare parts for agricultural machinery, the total export to the EU for 7 months of 2019 amounted to about RUR 1 billion.
Russia supplies grain and forage harvesters, agricultural tractors, harrows, mowers, balers, components and other agricultural machinery products to the EU countries. Such results were achieved due to the high competitiveness of domestic products. In comparison with foreign counterparts, agricultural machinery from Russia is not inferior to them, and sometimes even superior in its technical characteristics. In addition, they are more cost effective.
In total, over the past six years, export of agricultural machinery from the Russian Federation has covered more than 50 countries around the world. In 2018, the volume of foreign deliveries of domestic agricultural machines became a record for all of Russian history and exceeded RUR 11 billion. According to Alla Elizarova, director of the Russian Association of Specialized Machinery and Equipment (Rosspetsmash Association), the EU has very strict requirements for agricultural machinery, plants undergo a complex certification procedure for their products. Despite this, Russian manufacturers quickly enough introduce new models to this market, significantly increasing supplies. Such positive dynamics best confirms that modern Russian agricultural machinery meets the highest standards.
Significant importance in the development of agricultural machinery exports was played by state support measures introduced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. One of them is aimed at compensating part of the costs of companies participating in international exhibitions. Russian pavilions, organized at major industry forums in Germany, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and other EU countries, attracted the attention of local farmers. The growth in deliveries to these countries was not long in coming. On November 10-16, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Russian Export Center and the Rosspetsmash Association will organize at one of the largest agricultural machinery exhibitions in the world AGRITECHNICA 2019 in Hanover, the largest-ever participation in the forum of the Russian National Pavilion. 26 domestic manufacturers of agricultural machinery will present their latest developments on an area of more than 2,000 meters.
