Russia is increasing meat production

According to the results of eight months of 2019, the volume of production of the main types of meat (pork, beef, poultry, lamb and goat meat) in Russia amounted to 5.4 million tons in slaughter weight. This is 1.9% or 100,900 tons more than in the same period in 2018.

 

So, for the eight months of 2019, the share of pork in the total meat production was 37.8%, poultry meat - 55.4%, beef - 6.7%, lamb and goat meat - 0.1%.  

 

The cost of pork in half-carcasses of domestic production by the end of August 2019 was at the level of RUR 156.6 / kg ($ 2.46), which is 19.0% lower than a year ago, but the weighted average price of pork half-carcasses for January-August 2019 is equal to the price of January-August 2018 . At the same time, since the beginning of 2019, the price of pork has increased by 2.4%, and in August it decreased by 6.7%.

 

The cost of broiler carcass for the year (end of August 2019 to the end of August 2018) decreased by 0.7% and by August 26, 2019 was at RUR 109.7 / kg ($ 1.72), while over the last month the price decreased by 3.5%, and since the beginning of the year it has become 10.7% lower. The weighted average price of a broiler carcass for January-August 2019 is 17.8% higher than the weighted average price of the same period last year.

 

In January-August 2019, the volume of beef production in the Russian Federation amounted to 363,700 tons in slaughter weight (638,100 tons in live weight), which is 1.8% or 6,300 tons more than was produced in the same period of 2018.
