Sales of Russian confectionery products in the CIS are growing

Sales of Russian confectionery products in the CIS countries for 2014-2018 increased by 1.9% and amounted to 4,900,000 tons.

 

The largest share of sales during the reporting period fell on flour confectionery products (51.1% of total sales). Chocolate products became the second most popular, their sales in four years amounted to 30.2%. Sugar products in total sales for the period amounted to 19%.

 

The palm of superiority in sales of confectionery products among the CIS countries rightfully belongs to Russia, over four years, sales grew from 68.4% to 70.6%. The second place on this indicator belongs to Ukraine, despite the fact that sales of sweets there fell from 12.1% to 10.2%. Kazakhstan ranks third in the sales of confectionery products among the CIS countries, although during the reporting period, sales of confectionery products there decreased from 6.5% to 6.1%.

 

Experts predict that from 2019 to 2023, sales of confectionery products in the CIS countries will grow by 6.3% and amount to 5,210,000 tons.
