Siberian farmer breeding fluffy pigs

'Siberian Barnyard' Tourist Entertainment Complex is located near Novotyrishkino village, in the foothills of Altai. Attention attract new inhabitants: whether pigs, or lambs, immediately and do not understand who you are dealing with. The hair is shaggy, long, curly, like a ram. But the characteristic piglet gives out an animal - it's a pig.

Mangalica is a rare, almost extinct species. At the end of the 19th century, the Hungarian breeder Archduke Joseph crossed a domestic pig with a wild boar. That is why the new breed received a second name - the Hungarian Mangalica. In the middle of the 20th century, these animals were grown massively in the mountains and on the grassy meadows of the Carpathian Mountains. Meat products from Mangalica were very much appreciated in the markets of Europe.

Hungarian downy pigs in the Siberian climate feel great. Very thick coat perfectly protects its wearers from frosts. Animals are very unpretentious in food. They feed on the pasture, eat grass, raw and boiled potatoes, zucchini, pumpkin, trout, fodder and sugar beets in the summer season, and they eat hay in winter.

The owner of the farm observes the economic benefits of the breed, but still the Mangalica in Russia is much more exotic than the meat business.
