EAEU: course on import substitution of genetics

The Government of the Russian Federation approved a draft agreement prepared by the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The agreement's goal is to reduce the dependence of Russia, the countries of the EAEU on the import of breeding animals.

The document, in particular, defines such concepts as 'breeding products' and 'breeding value', 'pedigree animal' and "'breeding work'. The document also states that the EAEU countries provide for the exchange of information on breeding animals and breeding achievements, including in electronic form.

The implementation of the agreement will ensure the growth of genetic potential, the increase in production volumes, compliance with international quality assessment systems.
