December 2, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Omsk region at the site of Omskoye JSC (breeding work) held a meeting 'Preliminary results of work of breeding enterprises of Omsk region for 2017 and development prospects for 2018.'
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Omsk region, Alexander Kurzanov, talked about the results of livestock production in the region, the main problems and achievements. The head of the Livestock and Breeding Department of the Ministry, Elena Yurchenko, voiced the results achieved by the region's tribal enterprises, with emphasis on compliance with the standards set for individual indicators for each category of farms. The participants of the meeting determined the directions for the development of pedigree livestock breeding for the next year, tightening of the requirements for the implementation of mandatory indicators in order to ensure the fulfillment of the functions assigned to the breeding farms in the field of increasing the genetic potential and the level of productivity within the region. The head of the Central Department of Veterinary Medicine of Omsk region, Vladimir Plashchenko, talked about the fight against diseases of cattle, primarily with cattle leukemia. Employees of Omskoye JSC (breeding work) told about the results of Regional Information&Breeding Center of Omsk region.
Anatoly Shulakov, Head of Genetics and Breeding of Cattle Practice of Omsky Biocluster, Director General of SIBAGROCOMPLEX-BIO LLC (one of the main suppliers of genetic material in Omsk region, member of Omsky Biocluster) became one of the main speakers of the event. Based on the results of the company's activities in the field of pedigree livestock breeding, Anatoly Shulakov graphically demonstrated the basic principles of the effective livestock production program, planned for implementation by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Omsk region and Omsky Biocluster with the support of the Interregional Center for Agro Industry Engineering. The Effective Livestock Program should become an integral part of the Omsky Biocluster Roadmap developed by the Government of the region in conjunction with Omsky Biocluster Association.
Anatoly Shulakov stressed the need for a rational and professional approach to organizing tribal work, maximizing the use of the resources of the Interregional Center for Agro Industry Engineering. The Center is a professional platform for experts from Novosibirsk, Omsk and Tomsk regions, which provides for cooperation in the provision of engineering consulting, pre-project and project services, development of human resources in the agroindustrial complex, increasing the investment attractiveness of the agroindustrial complex, forming a resource database, laboratory equipment, personnel, implementation of expert activities in the agroindustrial complex.
