According to Russian customs data, as of January 24, the Russian grain exports since the beginning of the season was 29.8 million tons, which is 35% higher than the same period of 2016/17 (22 million tons), the press service of the Russian Agriculture Ministry reported on January 26.
"Wheat exports since the beginning of the season amounted to more than 23.5 million tons, which is 35% higher than the level of the same period of the previous period. Barley shipments in this period exceeded 3.6 million tons - 1.9 times more," the message says. At the same time, export supplies of corn in the current season slightly decreased - by 4%, to about 2.6 million tons. Export of other grain crops increased by 57%, making 202 thousand tons (against 129 thousand tons in the same period last year).
