Poultry meat and pork have been identified as a priority export of livestock products in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) for the near future, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reports.
"Priority export positions of livestock products in the near future will be, first of all, poultry and pork, and by 2020 the Union will be able to ensure stable exports of beef - up to 20-30 thousand tons. Export by dairy group will be represented by goods with a long shelf life - milk powder, cheeses, cheese products, ice cream. The CIS countries and China will become the main partners. In the long term, the growth of shipments to the Asian states is considered: Vietnam, Bangladesh, South Korea, Indonesia," the statement said.
Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Policy of EEС Stanislav Buben noted that in the result of 2017, the growth of exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs in the EEU countries was registered at $ 3.6 billion (it reached $ 20.6 billion) compared to the previous year. The geography of deliveries has considerably expanded: in 2017 agricultural products from the EEU were received by 155 countries of the world. The main consumers are the CIS countries (14.2%), the European Union (11.7%), China (9.6%), Turkey (9.2%), Egypt (8.6%), the Republic of Korea (7, 1%) and Iran (3.6%).
