Experts of veterinary supervision of Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsk Branch) constantly record violations of sanitary rules for the sale of perishable goods. If in some well-known hypermarkets you approach the meat counter with the simple question “Who is the manufacturer?”, sellers will most likely not be able to answer. Although the cost of products is increasing all the time, the quality is often not very good.
The State Veterinary Supervision Service of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsk Branch) is taking measures to restrain of the unauthorized trade facts. From the beginning of 2019, 57 inspections were conducted, 82 violations of veterinary legislation were revealed, 82 offenders were brought to administrative responsibility for the amount of 41,100 RUR ($ 634). According to the results of inspections, 559 kg of poor quality and dangerous products of animal origin were withdrawn from sale and destroyed.
In March, specialists from the veterinary expert laboratory of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Omsky Biocluster member) detected dangerous pathogenic microorganisms Listeria in three samples of poultry meat and salmonella in one sample.
According to the results of 2018, Omsk Reference Center specialists most often in animal products revealed an overestimated number of mesophilic microorganisms, i.e. the sanitary and hygienic state of the product was unsatisfactory, and bacteria of the colibacillus group were also detected. They were found in samples of meat products and samples of food products. The cases of detection of antibiotics in dairy and meat products are observed more and more.
Despite careful and systematic control by sellers, it is worth urging buyers of livestock products to be vigilant. Experts from the veterinary laboratory of the Omsk Reference Center report that cases of detecting poor quality and sometimes dangerous products for human health are not rare. Meat products fall into this list most often. It is not necessary to acquire suspicious goods with expired shelf life and without veterinary accompanying documents.
For example, the test report of the Omsk Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor, which is issued after carrying out the relevant laboratory tests, must be available. When identifying cases of veterinary violations, state veterinary services have the right to suspend or prohibit the production, storage, transportation and sale of livestock products. If the buyer has a suspicion that the product is not of high quality, it is necessary to conduct an analysis in Omsk Reference Center.
