Domestic prices for wheat, which began to increase sharply in mid-March, last week continued to grow. So, wheat of the 3rd class in the central part of Russia during the last week went up by 300 rubles ($ 4.79) up to 9.5 thousand rubles / ton ($ 151.75), 4-th class - almost 500 rubles ($ 7.99) up to 8,5 thousand rubles / t ($ 135.78), 5-th class - 610 rubles ($ 9.74) up to 7.1 thousand rubles per ton ($ 113.41), according to the Ministry of Agriculture. The weekly price increase in the south of the country was 215 rubles ($ 3.43), 550 rubles ($ 8.79) and 750 rubles ($ 11.98) respectively.
According to the National Union of Grain Producers, taking into account the April adjustments to the national currency exchange rate, grain prices increased most actively in the export-oriented South, where the value of grain crops has already exceeded last year's level. "The increase in demand for quality raw materials from grain consumers for food and forage purposes led to an increase in price indicators relative to last year's values for a similar date," Union President Pavel Skurikhin told.
